Tony’s Pizza Napoletana
North Beach
Try the New Yorker or NJ Tomato Pie; both are recommended at the North Beach restaurant.
Washington Square to chill also. Great Italian and Pizza in the area. Most notably Tony’s (world famous).

Golden Boy Pizza
Try the clam-and-garlic slice; it gets repeated recommendations.
Golden Boy is trying to do Sicilian style. I never said it was great. My biggest problem with them is consistency.... Sometimes the pizza is very good and sometimes it sucks big time. Like I said, they almost never bake it enough or put enough sauce on it. I enjoy it ordered with extra sauce and rebaked for 10 minutes.
just walk green street toward golden boy pizza. get the garlic clam slice.

Outta Sight Pizza
One diner recommends the vodka-sauce pizza as their favorite.
Outta Sight pizza.
If the word ‘pizza’ lands on sf social media there’s a small army that jumps to say outta sight. Not convinced they’ve even eaten it. I find the pizza decent, not great, but boy they crushed the hype game. Good business.
Outta sight also if you want amazing pizza!

Arizmendi Bakery
Try the pizza of the day: reviewers describe it as vegetarian, with sourdough crust and rotating toppings.
Lotta good recommendations, but I'll be one of the Arizmendi defenders. Also, their pizza of the day is delicious. But in matters of taste, etc. 🙂
You can get pizza from Arizmendi at like $7 a person, and drinks for another $3 a person if you’re going to Costco easy, and that’ll get you a pack of paper plates and napkins galore.
And two co-op standbys if you want a food errand rather than a meal: Rainbow Grocery on Folsom (worker-owned since 1975, best bulk and cheese in the city) and Arizmendi on Valencia or 9th Ave for the daily pizza.

The Laundromat
Outer Richmond
Try the broccoli rabe pizza with Calabrian chili sauce, which one diner singled out. Another diner said the parbaked pizzas sometimes weren’t hot enough.
Yes! The road to mushrooms
The laundromat - for the bagels and the pizza.
FYI — Laundromat has an amazing vegan pizza if you go for dinner.

Cellarmaker House of Pizza
For Detroit-style pizza, one diner recommends Cellarmaker in Bernal Heights.
Cellarmaker for Detroit-style pizza
We love cellarmaker house of pizza. Also has great beers in case that’s your thing. It’s Detroit style and frequently rotates the menu.
I'd like to offer Cellarmaker for consideration on a future list.

Za Pizza
Russian Hill
At the Hyde location, toppings (except pepperoni) are crumbled across the pizza for flavor in every bite; try it if you like evenly seasoned slices.
Za Pizza on Hyde St crumbles all their toppings (except pepperoni) so every bite is packed with the same intense flavor. All the ingredients are top quality too.
Za Pizza in Russian Hill
Right?! Always flies under the radar.
